Irene’s Heels:

When I saw that Irene had thrown together a retro style (see her post here)¬†look I fell in love, but more importantly I admired her hairstyle, blouse and finally her adorable¬†heels with casual jeans. ¬†I may not have pulled off a retro style look in my above photos, but she did inspire me to bring out from my closet some shimmery heels that I haven’t worn in forever. I wore my heels with this outfit to church this past Sunday and just fell in love with how much it added a dressier touch to an otherwise casual look. I hope I can copy the actual secretary-retro look of hers one day, but for now, thank you Irene for inspiring me to bring out these beauties.

I believe I am obsessed with Blaire and Whitney’s outfit styles on their shared blog peachesinapod.blogspot.com. Here I featured Blaire showing off a lovely dress and¬†accessories in colors that I absolutely adore. When I first saw this dress I thought “man would I love to own that” and “wow how would I have styled it?” I don’t know if I would have come close to styling this outfit as well as Blaire did. See the original post here.

Beauty & Make Up:

If I had to meet one of my followers in person it would be Amber of fashionflossandlipgloss.com. This young woman reminds me so much of a good friend of mine that moved away a few years back. I admire Amber’s faith, outfits, family and wait for it-she has inspired me to want to look into wearing make up more, buy more beauty products.¬† Now that is a friend. (LOL). Here is the post that started it all- How to Clean Make-Up Brushes.

Here is my make up collection: You can read the post about my new stuff here.

I don’t own a single brush yet, but just the fact that I bought make-up and some beauty products after this post says something. Not to mention Amber is giving away three Mary Kay products that you can enter here. Thanks Amber for inspiring me just through a make up cleaning tutorial.

Blogging:

Recently I wrote a review for a big company but was not compensated for it, nor given free products and after writing the review the company had the audacity to tell me what I needed to fix (in my own blog) which was a slap in the face. I read this blog post by Corinne of skinnedcartree.com and determined never again to write a review for nothing. Her post is an informational one on why bloggers should get paid to do reviews. She had my support after my first experience. But lessons learned.

macbookpro_jpg_png

As a matter of fact I have recently applied and been accepted into the etailPR bloggers network to review products for prizes, compensation or products and can’t wait to get started with it. Thank you Corinne for your informational post. I felt like I was in a debate class haha!

Thank you for inspiring me ladies and for responding to allow me to share YOUR ideas and posts. :). Until the next part in the series enjoy! and thanks for reading, let me know what you think!?!

Xander is 2

It is hard to believe that my baby is 2 today! He has brought so much joy, fun, love, laughter and life into our family. I don’t know where I would be without this little guy, I am thankful to God for giving me my Xander.

These photos are taken from this past Saturday in celebration of Xander’s Birthday at a local park. He loved his bubble producing lawn mower (he literally pushed it all over the park) my dad said he needed to start his own landscaping business t which I coined it “bubbles R us” haha! Xander is not a cake fan so hence the candles in a marsh mellow.

Some things Xander can do: point to 8 or more body points upon request, name at least 3 body parts (whenever he feels like it), say up to 20 words (clearly), run, blow, get into everything, kiss, stack 8 or more blocks, work on stacking rings with little help, nest cups with little help, follow simple one step directions, sometimes follow two step directions. Eat with a fork and spoon, drink from a sippy and regular cup, and drink from a straw.
Some things he is continuing to learn: to jump, speak with clearer words (here and there I mean), clean up after himself and many more things.
Some facts about Xander:
He loves baby einsteins, Elmo, Barney, bugs, balls, parks, swings, daddy (the most), people, coffee (FOR REAL), hot dogs, mac &cheese, fruit snacks, any fruits, marshmellows, any kind of juice.

My thoughts and words to Xander: I love you baby! You are a miracle child. I thank God for placing you in our lives so that we might know how to love and parent best. I look forward to your development in skills and interests daily. I rejoice in your new discoveries and pray to always be there through most of them all. I love you Xander. Momma!

Thank you for reading and celebrating with me!

Outfit details: Top: Old Navy (from last summer)//Cropped Pants: 1st Kiss (Thrifted at Goodwill)//Pendant: Red Buffalo Trading Co.

First of all not only would my hubby consider the first picture posted as a pin-up bombshell model look for me(he took the photo) but the pendant around my neck is made from a bombshell sort to speak. I won this pendant through a giveaway that Rachel of therandomwritings.com had here. She collaborated with Corlie of Red Buffalo Trading co to have my now lovely pendant mailed. To read the story of this piece of recycled-bomb jewelry or to order one or one like it click here. I love it. I wore it to my son Xander’s birthday party, a date day (where these photos are taken), to church on Sunday and for other events on Sunday. It is lightweight and fun to play with. I am in love. Thank you Rachel and Corlie. (Corlie’s blog here).

I want to thank you (my readers and followers) for all of your sweet compliments, prayers and encouragement in my last post. It meant a lot. I am sorry for the missing in action lately. I have actually been doing more responsible things (as if my life revolved around blogging and sometimes I wish it did) but I have been doing the following things instead:

Go on a evening date with my hubby(where these photos come from) we rode our bikes to the local trail/park and did a mini mountain bike till we reached this Greenway River. Skipped rocks, had a picnic and took photos of course. Then we went to Starbucks, and out to rent the movie “THe Heat,” great movie.

Watch Game of Thrones (finished season 2, now on to 3), watch Once Upon a Time (I am 2 episodes behind), plan a birthday party for Xander, have the party. Try to relocate an important document for my teacher licensure renewal (so far not getting anywhere- prayers please), compile and revisit some items needed for the teacher licensure renewal, be more intentional and patient with my kids, and love my hubby more.

What are some things you have been working on in your personnel life? Any goals?

Here is a more dressier way in which I have worn this pendant:

The Alley

Outfit Details: Dress: Mossimo (Target, OLD)//Flats: Nine West (Plato’s Closet, old)//Necklace: Vintage Sarah Covington (family heirloom)// Purse: Michael Kors (NY, wedding gift).

Where to begin? These photos were taken today, and my emotions have gone up and down today. You see this alley holds some memories for me. As a girl my cousin Kathleen, her mom (my aunt Sharon, who passed away),my mom, my granddaddy (who passed away) and my siblings and I used to walk this alley to get to the start of the town I now reside in. I had the privilege of telling about and showing Nevaeh this alley as well. It is behind some local shops before walking towards downtown in our area. When I was a girl I remember getting milkshakes at McDonalds after our alley walk, or ice cream at the local ice cream parlor (I guess as a way of rewarding our walk, to aid in more time spent together with a treat). I hope to do this with my kids as they get alittle older and tolerable of longer walks.

My emotions and busyness have also gone towards my renewal of teaching licensure. I am almost done except turning in documents and getting transcripts sent, plus fees but I am nervous and unsure. I haven’t taught in two years. I know that I may not teach again full time for several more years but is it what I truly want? I am scared of the past mistakes in teaching catching back up to me? Has parenting full time helped in my areas of weakness in the classroom? These are constant questions. I finally had to go to God tonight and relinquish these fears and thoughts and trust that He knows best.

On to life other than teaching licensure renewal. The babes have been dealing with allergies, runny noses, ear aches and bleh! This coming Saturday is also Xander’s birthday celebration party as he will turn 2 on the 30th. Then the hubby wants a cookout with his friends from work, so this coming weekend will be busy, memorable but fun.

Below is how I have styled this dress in a past post:

Bikini printed maxi dress

Outfit details- Maxi dress: Apt. 9 (old)//Sandals: Old Navy (old)//Cardigan: Old Navy (old)// Necklace & Earrings: Charlotte Russe (old).

I haven’t worn this dress since I was 32 weeks pregnant with Xander. I just sort of put it away with my maternity shirts and pants and then rediscovered it over the weekend and it is not a maternity dress after all. That’s the beauty with maxi dresses, and that is they can be worn pregnant or not and still be adorable.

My hubby took these pictures this past weekend and when I look at them I notice how the print on the dress almost resembles a bikini, can you see it? Shocker for me, but still a cute and comfortable dress. Confession, My hubby hated the cardigan since before I put it on I was revealing a lot of cleavage which you know men like, but I wasn’t all comfortable with. So he snapped shots with me wearing it and not wearing it. Another confession, I actually got a sweet photo taken with my baby Max but one of my boobs was about to pop out ad bra showing and you don’t want to see that on here.

Do you have any photo confessions? What do you think of the dress? I see a lot of wear coming in the near future, it’s almost perfect up til fall (my favorite season).

Thank you for reading loves.

Easter Dress

Follow on Bloglovin

I hope everyone had a great Easter! I enjoyed family time (see photos and details below) and wearing this Elle Maxi dress. I wore this dress in my best friend Katie’s wedding about 2 years back and can’t get enough of it. I wear it ALOT! It’s a little long, but these wedge shoes worn with them add just the right height and cover up. Plus, I got the shoes at a Goodwill thrift store for $1.50- now you can’t beat that. I also couldn’t forget to include my favorite Michael Kors purse, you are probably tired of seeing it but it’s my favorite. (Linking up with Elle and Jacquline for the Weekly Spotlight just to prove it, this weeks topic is favorite handbags).

He has Risen

Follow on Bloglovin

Happy Easter! Enjoy today like everyday but know that God loves you enough to send His son to die for yours and my sin(s). If you don’t know this truth, this profound love than I encourage you to do so.
As a parent I couldn’t imagine sacrificing my own child(ren), especially my babies whom are innocent for others. But that is what Christ did for me and you, by sacrificing His innocent child, his Lamb.
1Peter 2:24- “He himself bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by His wounds you have been healed.” (NIV version).
If you believe that Jesus is your savior then wonderful, but if you don’t than I hope in faith that you will one day or today choose to believe that Christ died for you. All you need to do is pray something along these lines-“Lord, I realize I need you, that I have fallen short of your glory and sinned. Forgive me Lord. I acknowledge that you sent your Son and that the only way to salvation is through the blood of your son. Amen!”
