To those blessed days…

Too often I take for granted how blessed I really am. I have the Lord Jesus as my Lord and Savior and in my heart, 4 kids, an AWESOME hubby a roof over my head and owned vehicles and more. I am just so glad for all that God has given me in this life. For the days I may not feel blessed I hope this post will not only inspire you, but myself as well.
With the holidays approaching and this holiday or month being about Thankfulness I will be the first to admit that a lot of times I am not thankful enough, instead I just go through life wanting more and more only to find that what I finally got wasn’t enough or what I actually needed.
The day I took these photos my children were all great and went to bed SUPER early than normal, the weather was summery and breezy (unlike the 30 degree and less weather lately).

God made a beautiful day that day and for that I am thankful.
I am thankful that I got this maxi skirt and black top from JCPenny for free with the buy $10 of stuff or more get $10 off coupon. When I feel I don’t have enough- even in clothes God always provides. When I have been with little food, patience, perseverance, faith, clothing- God has provided and for that I am thankful.

What are some things you are thankful for? What are ways you can be thankful this holiday?

  1. I love when I have a really good day, especially after a really bad day! I too need to be thankful for what I have and to stop longing for what I don’t have. That skirt is such a pretty color! I love those $10 off $10 coupons that JCP sends!! I have one right now I need to use up. We are all so blessed, more then we even know!

  2. Doesn’t JCPenney have the best sales? Some of my favorite pieces I’ve picked up for $2 on their clearance rack and then got 25 percent off that! You look beautiful in this shade of blue and your pretty necklace looks just lovely with it. Inspiring message today, girl! Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Very uplifting post, Rachel. I agree, It’s so important to be mindful and thankful. I, too, often sit and think about the things I want more than the things I have, BUT I’ve been working to change that! It has been helpful for me to keep a little journal just for jotting down the things I am thankful for each day. I try to take a moment every day to do this. Sometimes when things are tough, it’s hard…but there is always the hubby and kitties (or your kids, for you) to be thankful for. And usually after sitting down and really concentrating on all the ways I am blessed I end up with more than a few things! Great post!

  4. Love your outfit! The necklace matches your skirt so well! And yes, there are so many things to be thankful for!! Thanks for joining the Celebrate Southern Linkup! I am pinning this terrific post to our official pin board! Cheers!

  5. I love this post – you look lovely, and thank you for the reminder! It is so easy to overlook the little things for which we should be thankful. Beautiful words and sentiments like that you posted here help me to keep things in perspective… it is so easy, amidst all of the worldly distractions and temptations, to lose sight of what is really important. Like you said, we sometime wish for things will never truly satisfy, and instead we should remember that God always gives us what we need, when we need it, and how we need it… doing all things for our good.
    Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
