Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me link up, Birthday girl and $300 giftcard giveaway

Good morning! It has snowed non-stop since yesterday morning and we could be getting 12 inches of snow or more, which means that this is what winter feels like and should be. However, the temperature has been in the 15 degrees and under which makes it a little unbearable. Other than the kids going stir crazy I have enjoyed getting cozied up on the couch with a blanket and watching some good movies or Instagramming on my phone.

This past weekend was filled with celebrating Nevaeh’s 6 birthday party. First of all, the actual day of her birthday I made cheesy scrambled eggs and toaster heated some Belgium waffles for dinner (per Nevaehs request) and then whipped up a cake and had a little celebration in our own home. Then on the day of her party we went to McDonalds and had family members and friends from her class over for a party. I am pretty sick of McDonald parties but where else do you have a party in the winter time for a child without spending a ton of money? Sure I could get on Pinterest and come up with themes and do a party at home but I am just not that crafty or organized. Any suggestions? What kind of parties have you done?

Now on to the link up. Todays featured bloggers are below along with a description of each. I choose to do a collage of the ladies featured as something new. I hope you will join in and link up and possibly be featured next Tuesday. Just follow the rules below and say hello to a few bloggers that have linked up.
1). Megan of linked up the first of three ways she styled this plaid dress. I loved the edgy-ness to her outfit posted here.

2). Lisa of @beauty101bylisa is a new blogger I have been following and so when she posted this outfit as well as link it up I knew I needed to feature her. The Burberry inspired scarf and styling shorts for winter look is just too cute not to notice. You can follow up on her post (and weekly link up here).
3). I loved how versatile this scalloped lace top was on Sammi of @beautifuldreamerami. I found myself wondering on the possibilities of what she could style this lovely top with, but I loved her touch of the pink blazer and accessories. You can check out more here.

4). Tiffany of @brightonabudgetl linked up a remix of a black and white small print polka dotted dress and the above th picture is only just one of the ways she styled this lovely dress to create a blouse. You can check out her other remix of this dress in her post here.
5). Becky of is probably one of the busiest ladies I have ever known yet she is just to darn good at it all so I asked her how she did it all and weeks later she wrote up this post and linked it up, so how could I not feature it. Read here as she reviews a book on how to handle it all but more importantly how she really handles it all.

Now it is your turn, just follow the link up rules below:

  1. Snow sounds lovely to me! But that’s coming from someone who loves snow and the cold, yet lives in a climate that is warm/hot most of the year due to hubby’s current job. We haven’t had any snow this year :(. Hope you are staying warm and safe! Cuddling up with a blanket and your kids sounds wonderful to me :). Thank you for hosting this link up again, and thank you so much for featuring me!! I appreciate your support and am glad you liked my outfit enough to share it with your readers.

  2. The only party my parents ever had for me with my class was at a McD when I was a kid and I’ve never forgotten it! lol! My kids have never been invited to a McD for a party and I am not sure why… I think the bounce houses have taken over for parties over here! What a wonderful party you had for her and I love her name, I have a cousin with the same name.

  3. Thanks for the feature, Rachel! We usually just do an in-home party for Henry, but we did recently attend a party at a bowling alley and one at a hotel’s pool. The mom said the hotel pool was $50 to rent for two hours. I thought that wasn’t too bad.

  5. Thanks for featuring me, friend:) I love Nevaeh’s cake! Being a November baby myself, there’s not a lot of options for cheap birthday parties. I always wished I was a summer baby, so I could have a pool party. So with Kane, we rented out the county pool for 2 hours. It was $50 but everyone had a great time, and it beat paying $250+ for a bounce house or something similar.
