Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me

Happy St. Patricks day (are you wearing green? NO pinching here!) and welcome to “Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me” link up. A place where women (or men) come to link up any recent post they want to share (and perhaps have featured next Tuesday). I can’t tell you how awesome it is to read your link ups each week and just get excited for what you are learning, wearing or doing as each of you inspire me to consider all kinds of things and new ideas so thank you very much! Give yourselves a pat on each side of your back, or better yet go to a spa and get a massage or get someone near by to give you one, get a favorite snack or drink and sit back and hopefully gain some inspiration, all the while linking up some of yours below.
This weeks featured five ladies that linked up last week are:
Jessica of linked up a lovely watermelon colored portofino top and floral fun heels for a welcoming of spring weather. Her heels are just gorgeous, check them out and the post here.
Rachel of linked up a spring styled outfit that I am seriously inspired to tryout for my own as I just adore all of her items of clothing (as seen in the picture above) and check out those BEAUTIFUL pumps (I am IN LOVE with anything cobalt blue) so of course these are my favorite part of her outfit. You can check out Rachel’s new loves here.
Alena of wears a lovely layered amount of purple and fun mixing textures and prints that I just love. You can view the whole look here.
Cynthia of @myrosecoloredshades linked up a beautiful post on how God used a man of God to save orphans and how this act (or documentary that she recently saw) moved her spirit and showed her just how much God loves us. Read this inspiring post here for more.
The lovely Dana of has been linking up a series she began on her blog to feature fashion bloggers from all over the world and since she began this I told her I would love to be featured.  Months later I finally got around to joining her project called WABISABI and so I am featuring her project here today in hopes you will want to get in on the project, get discovered and meet other bloggers. Hello everyone, how are you? I am doing good, so no complaining here. Actually, life has been pretty good this past week. Sure there has been some rough spots here and there but nothing you probably care to hear about.
I have been feeling more challenged in my faith in that I am applying Gods word more to my life, or been challenged to be more intentional. Last Sunday my hubby and I watched the movie “God’s Not Dead.” WHOA! we cried most of the film. My hubby and I have felt so far from where we used to be with our relationship  with God. By the end of the film the Holy Spirit just tugged at us. The power of the holy ghost filled me til over the brim with knowing the things in my life that I needed to work out, one being just follow Jesus  and Gods word and remain in t daily so as to know truth, God’s truth in this world of wickedness, and so to ward off the principalities of darkness. This is just my conviction, and opinion, but do see this new film and be changed and challenged whether you are a believer or not.

Anyway, todays dress is from a past collaboration with, only then I styled it more classy and glamorous than what you are viewing now.(You can view the look at the bottom of this post). I traded the silver heels and pearls for a blue beaded necklace, silver punk nail necklace and navy flats. I love the casual change to the dress for that matter.

The perfect Sunday dress once again. I can’t complain at how comfortable it is. What do you think?
Outfit Details: Dress- eShakti c/o//Beaded necklace:: vintage Sara Covington//Spike necklace: gift//Bracelett: gift//Flats: Kenneth Cole (thrifted).

Honoring some special dads (giveaway)

With Sunday being Father’s Day I thought it only appropriate to let you meet two great dads I know. First one being my hubby, Chantry.
DSC00987 DSC00524 DSC00633

Chantry is a hard worker, while his job is a decent paying one with good and I mean GOOD benefits, he still works all the overtime he can each week to provide us with money to save, our gym membership, extra odds and ends that come our way and he starts attending Radford University this fall on top of that to slowly earn his Bachelors in Business Management/Leadership. He is also a hard working dad. His whole focus is his family and providing, hence extra work hours and going back to school (he gets paid from his Army veteran benefits to go to school and his job and veteran benefits pay for schooling) Not only that but he is a stud muffin, I call him “Mr. Sexy pants.”
Some cools facts about my hubby and a glimpse of other great dad qualities:
-He loves God with all his heart and puts God first in all things.
-He got out of $11,000 worth of debt before we married (my rules and he followed through with my pushing him). We are completely debt free by the grace of God!
– He loves hackey sac playing
-He gets up with crying babies and holds them, changes diapers, gives comfort/bottles.
– He is a proud daddy and loves to have all 4 kids (yes 4) in his arms or around him in public. (He carries the twins, while holding the fingers of Xander and Nevaeh in public while walking).
– He wants probably more children one day than I even imagined, and since we are in the foster care system as potential foster care parents one day he wants to foster some babies/children.
-Admits (even to the kids) when he has done wrong or bad things but how God forgives.
-He is passionate about teaching our kids about Jesus Christ as our savior.

Now that you know some things about my hubby now I would like to introduce to you MY dad.

Rachel's Pics fall 2010 189

(Here he is pictured with one of my Chinese brothers, adopted from China, obviously).
My dad is compassionate, easy to forgive, slow to anger, and like me soft spoken. He rarely gets mad (unless its about political parties), and he rarely speaks ill of others. He finds the good in everybody, give him the worst serial killer in the world and he might find something good about him. He is a humourous person and is often times telling corny jokes, but often times raising the spirits of those needing it around him. I am thankful for my dad.
Some facts about my dad:
– he is a southern Baptist minister (currently hospital chaplain though).
– he has taught himself some basic mandarin, guitar and piano.
– he is obsessed with his computer flight simulator and brags about where he flew to that day and weather conditions (haha)
– he loves coffee
-He LOVES the Lord and helped me come to know Christ as my savior. Thank you dad.

So tell me what are some good fun facts or what are you thankful for in your dad or hubby?

Happy Easter! Enjoy today like everyday but know that God loves you enough to send His son to die for yours and my sin(s). If you don’t know this truth, this profound love than I encourage you to do so.
As a parent I couldn’t imagine sacrificing my own child(ren), especially my babies whom are innocent for others. But that is what Christ did for me and you, by sacrificing His innocent child, his Lamb.
1Peter 2:24- “He himself bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by His wounds you have been healed.” (NIV version).
If you believe that Jesus is your savior then wonderful, but if you don’t than I hope in faith that you will one day or today choose to believe that Christ died for you. All you need to do is pray something along these lines-“Lord, I realize I need you, that I have fallen short of your glory and sinned. Forgive me Lord. I acknowledge that you sent your Son and that the only way to salvation is through the blood of your son. Amen!”

I bet you have your hands full?

Follow on Bloglovin

The question I am asked a million times- I bet you have your hands full? Is starting to get old but really hit me hard today.  Sometimes I cannot believe I am even a “mama” or “mommy” let alone to 4.  Max and Elizabeth are twins (obviously) and  9 months old, Alexander “Xander” is 21 months and Nevaeh 5. How do I do it? (another question I am asked a lot). Well read on.

As Friday’s roll around and my hubby gets paid we have nothing.  After bills, diapers, wipes, food, gas- we have hardly anything.  I am being real here in saying that sometimes we appreciate it when family members give us extra food, clothing for the kids and diapers.  I don’t know where we would be without support sometimes. When tax refunds come each year that’s what we use for another vehicle or house fixings or to pay future house tax payments. But one thing is for sure and that is God is good and at least we have a house, food, no DEBT, A vehicle, a church family and friends/family. Thank you Becky for a glimpse to this reminder. (check out her blog post to get at what I am telling you).  God has always provided so why do I doubt God’s provisions on Friday?  Why  do I trust Him on other days to provide?

I bet you have your hands full could be true- yes with childcare and keeping up with appointments, which child got a diaper change or not; but its more about I have my hands and heart full of love and needing God everyday to keep me full.  He alone provides! That is how I do it!

What the children are wearing in these photos are hand-me-downs or gifts (read up on these below) click each photo above to view it in a large format or you can view them on instagram. If you are not a follower of mine on instagram then click here and I will follow you back! Thanks!

Thank you everyone for reading up and your comments on the last post “Blogger’s who have inspired me!” It was so much fun gathering up all the blogs/bloggers who have inspired me and sharing it with you. With that said I am going to do it again! I am SO EXCITED to let you know that I already have two people who have consented to being featured in my next one and I couldn’t be more THRILLED! One of the bloggers who will be featured I have been following since before I had this blog but rather my Xanga one years ago (can we say stalker ;).

I will be reading everyones blog posts (whom I follow-through bloglovin) to come up with my next few inspiring bloggers. If you have been selected I will e-mail you or leave you a comment for your permission to include your blog link and specific inspiring post. If I don’t hear from you in time I will feature you in the next one.

Now to cut to this post and the meaning of the title and outfit pictures 🙂

Love Potion! Late Saturday evening my hubby informed me that we needed to be “hippie’s” talking about God’s love during children’s church the next day. I was thrilled but also didn’t know what to wear. Since he informed me last minute I dove into a box of old clothes and found this flowery blouse from Charlotte Russe, and paniced when I couldn’t find any bell-bottom pants or long skirts in my closet to wear with it. Needless to say I didn’t pull off the hippy look real well- but the top was an inspiration to begin looking for appropriate “hippy” attire for next time we have to play the roles of hippies (or because).

Children’s church was a blast, the kids enjoyed it as my hubby and I pretended to concoct up a “Love Potion” filled with chocolate, rose petals, kisses and rays of sunlight- before going into God’s word and how God describes love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8″ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails.”

To see pictures of my hubby and I go to the very last set of pictures. Otherwise enjoy these photos my sister took of me after church:
