Passion and Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me link up

Like I mentioned yesterday (see post here) the past week and even weekend have been super busy. My hubby was on spring break last week with school and while I still posted I have been neglecting blogging or visiting other blogs. While this little space isn’t a job let’s be honest with ourselves and just say that at times it can seem like one (especially if you have affiliate links, sponsors, collaborations or a weekly link-up). When you are passionate about something it can take a lot out of you at the same time, like a dancer with dance practice or an aspiring cook to perfect the perfect dish- that has been what this blog has been lately. I love knowing that feeling and being passionate about blogging but there comes a point where if blogging can’t be done it throws everything off kilter (at least for me).  Tonight my hubby suggested I put our 2 in a half year old son to bed, that I shower and I go to bed early (since I have had little sleep) and I gave him the mean look and “oh no you didn’t look” over the phones facetime camera (since he works in the evenings). I feel bad that I did that but I am passionate about this link up and didn’t want to NOT have it open for reading your links or allowing you to link up so without further adieu here are last weeks featured five and the link up for today.

Shauna of @lipglossandlace.net linked up a lovely fringe and flare outfit that I just couldn’t keep my eyes off of, see the look here.
Denise of @fashionloveletters.com linked up a lovely distressed jeans, and shoulder cut off tee that seemed to be so appropriate for spring transition (despite the snow in the background) and I just found the whole outfit cute and inspiring to try sometime. See the post here.

Tea of @whatmamawear.blogspot.ca
linked up a casual ladies night out outfit. I loved that Tea and I have similar taste in style (both are moms) so flats (especially leopard print ones) are definitely a bonus or staple for even a girls night out for us both it seems. You can read about what she did for her ladies night out and view her outfit here.

Melissa of @missyg.com linked up a recent review of a Thalia For Macy’s launch party that she participated in and shared on. I was excited for Melissa’s outlook on this new line of clothing at Macys and had to share it with you. Check out some of her favorite pieces and review here.
Chicken Dip
Jill of @dousedinpink.blogspot.com linked up several quick and easy recipes for in home entertaining (especially for her and some friends to eat while enjoying the past recent Oscars) and this chicken cheddar dip looked heavenly enough that I knew I had to try it. You can view this recipe and others for a party here.

  1. Thanks for featuring me, Rachel! Honestly, seeing your passion for being so consistent on your blog is what motivates me to push myself. Don’t be so hard on yourself, though. If you don’t sleep, you’ll literally start “losing it” and I’d rather you not. 😛

*I tell you, as I lay in bed trying to finish tomorrow’s blog post…whoops, I mean today’s.*

  2. Thank you for featuring me! I know, its so hard balancing your everyday life with blogging sometimes! I could definitely use some extra sleep but I still get up at 5am to do my blogging stuff before everyone else gets up and the day gets crazy.

  5. You are so sweet to feature me! We ARE quite similar I think! Aside from just being Moms and loving leopard flats, lol.
Do take care of yourself too though! I try and schedule in my blog time – and sometimes it doesn’t happen! Your passion for this is evident in all you do!

  6. Thanks for featuring me, Rachel! 🙂 I’m with you this week on how you’re feeling about blogging. I call it “blogger burnout”, and I have it bad the last 2 weeks. Don’t know why or where it came from, but it’s not a fun feeling! Take some time for you, and don’t be too hard on yourself. Hope you have a good day ahead -xx

  7. I think we all have those days … weeks … that we just can’t seem to spend as much time on our blog, not without giving up something else important. It’s a tough balancing act, no doubt!

  9. Blogging can definitely be hard work but hard work always pays off. I was linked to your blog through MissyGBlogs. What a nice idea to do. I’ve been reading a lot on Link Ups today and knew it was a way to introduce other blogs you may love or may be new to but didn’t understand the concept of it. Enjoyed reading it. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

  10. I know blogging and working can be tough! I work two jobs most times and blog, so I get where you are coming from! Definitely take that break every once in a while. I too have that mental struggle where I debate staying up late for one extra post this week or sleeping. This week, I chose sleeping! Thanks so much for always doing this link-up! I really enjoy it and love reading it and seeing other bloggers!

  11. I totally get what you’re saying about having a passion for blogging but how it sometimes seems to take over your life. And it’s those times that I think I need to step back and re-prioritize and not forget what’s most important like time with God and my family. Thanks for sharing. ~Cynthia

  12. I love what you are saying in this post! It’s so easy to totally not understand that we really aren’t hat important and we really, really need to take a step back sometimes!
