My first shorts in 12+ years



That’s right, if you have captured my photo and caption on instagram here than you know I haven’t worn shorts for more than 12 years (PJ shorts don’t count and I have worn those in public too). I guess you could say I find shorts unattractive on curvy or heavier ladies, or maybe it’s more I never liked myself in them. But I have hated them for a passion forever until recently when my hubby kept telling me he liked me in my PJ shorts.
I finally took the plunge and went to Goodwill with some birthday cash to stock up on some. I didn’t find much but these lovely Mossimo (Tags and Target tags still attached, originally $17.99) I got for $3, in the cart they went. This top was just a beaut when I saw it. I am a sucker for floral print and polyster/chiffon looks lately so when I tried it on with these shorts I knew without a doubt both would be mine. I didn’t find any other shorts, but this top, shorts and a pair of Brand new statement earrings from Target (not posted) became mine.
I wore this outfit Friday to a new local snow cone stand called Miami Ice. The snow cones were good, but too much for all of us, honestly we will do kiddie sizes next time because we couldn’t finish them lol. The atmosphere was more of the attraction to me. It included stringed lights in the trees for nighttime snow cone fun, free bouncy house for kids, a fire pit and bean bag game tosses- the perfect date time/child playing atmosphere ever and all in the backyard of our children’s former music classes (same owner).

Another plus- this shirt can be worn as a dress (now I just need to find a black or nude slip to wear underneath it lol).
